they're the same, but usually, university is used in other countries, while college is more common in the U.S. (or at least it is where I'm from XD)

@kpop30fr yeah, it can be used like that, but I've always heard college used as the same thing as all of the departments together.
"he's going to college when he's done with high school" and "he's going to university when he's done with high school" mean the same thing.
"college" can be used as "department" though too

@kpop30fr College is not the same as a department. For example the College of Arts and Sciences includes Departments of English, Anthropology, Literature

I gettin' confused ... well the university is the place that includes all the college for example (college of languages or translation college of historical science /college of law ... ect ) in the meanwhile the college include the departments for example in the college of languages there is the department of French department of English ect ... ? it that what you mean guys?
