Practically the same thing.
Find out, means you know you know something with minimal effort, or generally knowing something by seeing it.
Figure out, means you had to use a little or a lot of effort to know something... with or without seeing it.
How did you find out your goldfish died? We saw the fish floating in the aquarium.
How did you figure out he was cheating? I heard him on the phone with another woman.

@JordanKinsley Did you mean a lot of effort to know something is like we figure out the information by digging TMI or stalking all the time...??? which means more detail of information that we got to figure out something? is that so?

I'm just trying to full express the differences in the words, they do ultimately mean the same thing but this is the meaning of the verbs.
