A pencil is a thin dark stick of carbon surrounded by a covering of wood. You shave off the wood to make a sharp, dark point which you write or draw with.
A crayon is a lump of coloured wax formed into a stick. It usually has a covering of paper.
According to Google Translate, the Russian word for pencil is "карандаш" and the Russian word for crayon is "мелок".
I hope this helps. :)

A pencil is usually made of wood and it has graphite (pencil lead) in it.

You can also have a mechanical pencil that is made of plastic (or sometimes metal) and has graphite (pencil lead) in it. And when the lead runs out, you can put new lead in it.

And you can have coloured pencils that you can draw or colour with.

Crayons are usually made of paraffin - paraffin is a waxy substance. (Sometimes crayons are actually made of wax.) And you can draw or colour with a crayon.

@OldGeezer
Paraffin? Wow, I always assumed they were all wax.
Btw, it's spelled "lead", like the metal. 👍
