Question about Arabic
What does تفضل mean? Because it has been used for “prefer” ex: هل تفضل هنا او بلدك؟
I also see that it mean go ahead or please enter in google translate. So I’m confused now. Can you also give examples of possible ? Tysm❤️

فَضَّل (faddala): to prefer
تَفَضَّل (tafaddala): Usually used in the imperative (i.e., as a command):
تَفَضَّل - tafaddal
It is used as an invitation for someone to take something or come in or accept an offer or have a seat, etc. For example,
1) if you're offering somebody food, you can say "tafaddal".
2) if you someone knocks on your door, you can call on them: "tafaddal" as a polite substitute for "come in"
3) if someone comes in your office and you want to ask them to have a seat, you can say "tafaddal"
it is similar to "go ahead"
