"möchten" ist höflich.
"wollen" ist unhöflich (z.b. die Forderung).
z.B.
Ich möchte das kaufen 🤗

Die Bedeutungen sind etwas kontextabhängig und hängt auch von den Empfindungen des Sprechers ab.
Weitere Beispiele:
'möchten' als Ausdruck einer Bitte:
Eltern: "Mach' jetzt endlich den Computer aus!"
Kind: "Ich möchte (aber) das Spiel erst noch beenden."
'möchten' als Ausdruck eines Wunsches:
"Ich möchte so gerne mal wieder verreisen."
'wollen' als Ausdruck eines Entschlusses:
Partner A: "Unsere Beziehung läuft doch so wie es ist."
Partner B: "Ich will sie aber so nicht weiterführen."
Diskussion zwischen Kind und Eltern:."
Eltern: "Wir hören immer nur 'Ich will, ich will, ich will. Kannst du nicht einmal sagen: 'Ich möchte bitte (gerne ein neues Handy haben)' oder 'ich hätte gerne'.'

@luhaman Das hattest du in deinem vorigen post schon ausdrücken wollen (nicht: ausdrücken möchten :D) - aber meine Ausführungen bezogen sich auf den angenommenen Sinn der Fragestellung - und da ging es - nach meiner Annahme - nicht darum, ob es ein Infinitiv ist oder nicht, sondern lediglich um die Verwendung in der Umgangssprache.
Ersetze einfach 'Ich möchte' in meinen Beispielen durch 'Wir möchten'. Dann gibt es das Wörtchen.
