I often see or hear some Americans using those words in their conversations.

1. Honestly, I don't think I can make it to the meeting tomorrow due to a prior commitment. (正直言って、明日の会議には参加できないと思います。)
2. Basically, the project is on track and we should be able to meet the deadline. (基本的に、プロジェクトは順調で、締め切りに間に合うはずです。)
3. Actually, I probably left my phone at home this morning, so I won't be able to check my messages until I get back. (実は、おそらく今朝家に携帯を忘れてきたので、帰るまでメッセージを確認できません。)

@Aoki_Games all of these words can actually fit well in a scenario so here it is:
Person A: “Honestly, I’m not really sure what I need to do for this project.”
Person B: “Basically we just need you to write some documentation.”
Person A: “I can probably do that very quickly. When do you need it done by?”
Person B: “The due date is in five days, but technically there are only three work days until then due to the holiday.”
Person A: “Oh right, with the holiday I don’t know if it will actually be done in time.”

とても分かりやすくて感謝感激です!
If you don’t use those words in the context, can you basically get what they’re talking about?

@Aoki_Games do you mean if you leave out basically, honestly, technically, actually from those sentences would it still make sense?
If so, yes you can leave them out and the sentence would usually sound the same, they just add a little more detail and personality to what you’re saying.

@Aoki_Games I can tell you what each word adds to the sentence:
“Honestly” used here lets someone know that you are being open with them about something, usually something that could be embarrassing, like not knowing what you’re doing.
“Basically” tells someone that what you are saying is just the basics, there is a lot more involved in “just writing documentation” but this conversation does not need all those details.
“Probably” is used very similarly to 多分, it is used to show uncertainty. This word in this example changes the meaning the most out of these examples. If you just said “I can do that very quickly.” Then you are 100% confident you can. Probably tells the other person you think you can but are not completely sure.
“Technically” is definitely not needed in this case, but it is used when something appears one way but is actually slightly different.
“Actually” is not needed here as well, but it is used to tell the other person that you thought something originally but now you think something different.
I know this is a lot so please let me know if you are confused at all!

I don’t think I fully understand what it means, but it’s very interesting to me. Hopefully, I’ll be able to use those awesome words appropriately.
