「in」という言葉は、何かの中にある位置を指すことがあります。例えば、「the third one in」という表現は、何かの中で3番目に位置するものを指します。この場合、corsageの中で3番目に位置するものを選ぶという意味になります。
例えば、次のような会話があります。
Person A: "Which book would you like to read?"
Person B: "The one on the shelf, the third one in."
この場合、Person Bは本棚の中で3番目に位置する本を選ぶと言っています。
このように、「in」を使うことで、何かの中での位置を特定することができます。

If you picture the corsages in a row like this: A B C D E F G H
then "the third one" could only mean corsage "C," because we tend to count things left-to-right, in the same direction that we read text. "The third one in" means "The third one from the edge," so it could apply to "C" or "F". Generally someone saying this would also be pointing to make it clearer which one they mean.

Thank you very much.
I'm not sure if I understand your explanation or not.
So, this 'in' equals to 'from the edge'?
Are there any examples that use 'in' in very similar way but in other situation than indicating things? Or should I remember "the third
one in" type of expression as a package?

In this sort of situation, "in" is a direction indicator, so it means "starting from the outside and moving towards the inside". That is, it means "the third one if you count in a direction starting from the outside and moving towards the inside".
This meaning of "inside" can be interpreted in various ways depending on the situation. If the items are in a line or a grid, etc, it can just mean "closer to the center" or "farther from the edge". If they are in a room, it could mean "closer to the center of the room" or "farther away from the door", etc. If they are in some sort of container with an opening, it could mean "closer to the back of the container" (farther away from the opening), and so on.

@Foogod Thank you very much. I tried to make an example sentence using this 'in' but failed.
Would you mind if I ask some example sentences?

@tomo_92 Just to clarify, there are two aspects to this, which are basically separate things:
You can add a direction to a counting instruction, such as changing "the (number) one" to "the (number) one (direction)". This basically works with any kind of direction indicator (as long as it makes sense in the context). For example:
"the third one down"
"the third one to the left"
"the third one clockwise"
"the third one from the end"
"in" is just one of the possible directions that can be used with this sort of construction.
Regarding using "in" as a direction indicator, there are a lot of situations where this can be done, for example:
"The cave was dark, but they decided to move further in."
"The worker starts by painting the outer edge, and then works her way in (toward the center) from there."
"The piston repeatedly moves in, and then out."
And here are some examples of combining the two things, like the original sentence ("the X one in", etc):
"When you go to the locker room, your locker is the third one in on the left." (the third one from the door, on the left side)
"Can you reach the cups in the cupboard for me? I want the third one in." (the third one counting from the front to the back of the cupboard)
"The book series I'm reading is unusual. I'm two books in, and I still don't know the main character's name." (here "in" means "deeper into the story" or "more invested in reading the series")
I hope this helps.
