Question about English (US)
What is the difference between I got time and I didn't have time ?Feel free to just provide example sentences.
What is the difference between I got time and I didn't have time ?Feel free to just provide example sentences.
I know that "got" is the past tense of "get", but I was confused by some sentences in English. For example, why does "I got time" mean "I have time" and not "I had time"? Or, when someone says "I ain't got time", why does that mean "I don't have time" and not "I didn't have time"? Is "got" in these cases being used as a form of "have" in the present tense, or is there some other rule for this?

There's an old verb tense called the present preterite. It cannot be used with all verbs. We use the simple past tense conjugation of those verbs to mention a present state of being. Here are some examples:
I knew it! Size does matter.
I knew it! My wife is cheating on me.
I got it! Now, I know what to do.
It's a real who done it.
Your example is an overgeneralization of the use of the present preterite. It's a common grammar mistake that Americans make. You will see it and you will hear it, but it is a grammar mistake. It should be avoided, or you run the risk of being stigmatized as uneducated.

Em inglês, "I got time" e "I didn't have time" têm significados opostos em relação ao tempo disponível para realizar uma atividade.
"I got time" significa que a pessoa tem tempo disponível no momento ou no futuro para fazer algo. É uma expressão informal que indica que a pessoa tem tempo livre ou está disposta a dedicar tempo a algo específico.
Exemplo:
- A: "Can you help me with this project?"
- B: "Sure, I got time this afternoon."
Por outro lado, "I didn't have time" indica que a pessoa não teve tempo disponível no passado para realizar uma determinada atividade. Essa expressão é usada para explicar por que algo não foi feito ou por que a pessoa não pôde participar de algo.
Exemplo:
- A: "Why didn't you attend the meeting yesterday?"
- B: "I'm sorry, I didn't have time. I had another appointment."
Portanto, a diferença entre as duas expressões está no momento em que o tempo está sendo considerado: "I got time" se refere ao tempo disponível no presente ou futuro, enquanto "I didn't have time" se refere ao tempo que não estava disponível no passado.

I agree with Southeastern.
Some people say, "I've got some time for that," but it's incorrect. The correct version is, "I have some time for that."
The ONLY correct use of "got" is the past tense of "get."
- What did you get at the bookstore?
- I GOT a dictionary.
- What did you get for your birthday?
- I got money and a sweater.
- What grade did you get on the test?
- I got a B.
- Did you get the car you wanted?
- Yeah! I got it!!! it's red!
- Did you get what I meant?
- Yeah, I got it.
