Formal translation:
Could someone provide me with a suitable term to describe a person who harbors self-hatred? Is it appropriate to use "self-deprecating"? I have seen it used in a humorous or ironic context, but that is not the connotation I am seeking.
Casual translation:
Can someone give me a good word for someone who hates themselves? Is it okay to say "self-deprecating"? I've heard it used in a funny or ironic way, but that's not what I'm looking for.
Explanation in German:
Die formale Übersetzung verwendet förmliche Ausdrücke wie "Could someone provide me with" und "Is it appropriate", während die informelle Übersetzung direktere und umgangssprachlichere Formulierungen wie "Can someone give me" und "Is it okay to say" verwendet. Außerdem wird in der informellen Übersetzung "I've heard" anstelle von "I have seen" verwendet, was den informellen Ton unterstreicht.

Self deprecation is not really hate. As we are always told, hate is a strong word, so we need a description that is comprehensively strong –
Self loathing.
You can use this as a noun, adjective and I’ve even seen it used as a verb.
This is the term that everybody uses to describe somebody who genuinely despises themselves.
