@IncurableiLLness Maybe they meant "by typing shit", by typing things to the person they wanted to calm down. The sentence you pulled it from isn't exactly grammatical, so I'm guessing. :)

If you're using "type" as a verb, "He types shit," it means that what he enters is worthless/inaccurate/stupid, etc.
If you're using "type" as a noun, "This is the same type OF shit we see all the time," then it means type of thing or type of behavior (as FushigNashi said).
Prepositions are important! (in this case, "of")

if its used like “ A” type shit, its expresses similarity to “A.” One could see surfing or swimming and say “that’s some Moana type shit” because Moana takes place in the ocean, expressing a similarity between surfing and Moana.

It doesn’t really have a meaning.
When it’s added at the end of a statement it can be used as a way to say “stuff like that”.
When it’s used alone in response to something it can mean “I understand that, or I relate to that”
It’s hard to explain the meaning, it depends on context and it can be used differently depending on the person.
But essentially it’s vulgar slang.
