- German
wohnen means living in a house, an apartment. leben is means living as in alive and if you talk about countries. As in Ich lebe in Deutschland. It also kind of implies that your whole life is in that said country while wohnen only means where you sleep and eat basically where your house is. e.g. A German is talking to an American saying Ich lebe im Moment in Deutschland möchte aber gerne in die USA ziehen. meaning that your whole life is based in Germany right now. If a German is working k. Austria he or she could say. Ich arbeite zwar hier in Österreich aber wohne in Deutschland. I hope my explanation helped. In alot of cases it is interchangeable :)
