The best I could say about a difference between them is the shorter one might suggest you are going to talk about your English, whereas the longer one might suggest you're going to talk about the improvements, specifically.

Also: The wording of your sentences sounds like you are going to say when or how you improve your English.

"I improve my English by speaking with others, rather than reading or playing games."

Even then, I think we'd say "practice".

"I practice my English, everyday."
"I'm practicing my English."
