Film sounds like an old movie so if it is then it works great but if it’s a new movie then movie would be more natural. Although describe is correct as well it seems more natural to say talked about

Saying finally makes it seem like he wanted to meet his ex wife and then he got the chance to after waiting, but I don’t think that is correct so it sounds more natural to take the finally out of it, unless he waited and wanted to meet his ex wife

The plural form of police is police and the rescuing part is redundant, so it seems more natural to get rid of redundancies
