Questions about example sentences with, and the definition and usage of "Dinner"

A: You can say "it smells good - IN HERE". In your example, it sounds like "it" could be referring to the previously mentioned "dinner ", but this is confusing, because it sounds like you're also not sure dinner was made at all -

When you arrive home, and there is s good smell from an unknown source - maybe it's dinner, maybe its take-out, maybe someone was eating something good and left, maybe the Turkey in your oven is on fire - native speakers will generally say "something smells good"

feeling down means feeling sick or depressed

wonder: think about, consider

It is okay if you just keep it like that, but I would say:
